what is adventure mentoring?
An adventure is an exciting experience that comes with some level of risk and uncertainty. It often involves exploring unfamiliar places, stepping outside our comfort zone, and facing new challenges.
Adventure mentoring focuses on using outdoor activities and adventure-based experiences to facilitate life skills, build confidence, and promote personal growth. Each activity aims to improve each participant’s wellbeing and mental health.
We mostly run sessions outside, because sometimes the weather can be unpredictable. Our priority is the emotional and physical safety of each participant. Each session is facilitated by experts with over 17 years of outdoor education and teaching experience.
Sunshine Coast Adventure Mentoring follow the ethical principles developed by the Australian Association for Bush Adventure Therapy (AABAT).
